Digital violence checklist
Digital violence (aka online/cyber violence) involves using technology as a means to target, intimidate, or harm individuals or groups and can take various forms, including:
Engaging in persistent, offensive, or threatening behaviour online with the intention to harm, intimidate, or humiliate another person.
Sending repeated, unwanted, or abusive messages, comments, or content to an individual, often causing emotional distress or fear.
Sharing explicit or intimate images or videos of someone without their consent, with the purpose of humiliating or extorting them.
Revealing or publishing someone's private and personal information, such as their address, phone number, or workplace, with the intent to harass or harm them.
Spreading discriminatory, racist, or inflammatory content online, targeting individuals or groups based on their race, religion, ethnicity, gender, or other characteristics.
Obsessively monitoring someone's online activities, invading their privacy, and causing them fear and/or distress.
Posting provocative or offensive messages online to elicit strong emotional responses or disrupt discussions and forums.
