Human trafficking
Human trafficking or Trafficking in persons is global and modern slavery. It is a crime in which traffickers exploit and profit from adults or children by compelling them to perform labor or engage in prostitution, commercial sex acts, sexual exploitation, criminal activities and even removal of organs. It consists of recruitment, transportation or harboring people for these acts.
Human trafficking is an abuse of human rights and most often(* organised crime. It is one of the most enormous and moneymaking industries there is. Hundreds of billions of euros are made profit by it yearly and every country in the world is affected. It is said to be the third largest criminal enterprise after drugs and weapons. No industry or economic sector is immune to human trafficking although high-risk sectors, such as agriculture, restaurants, textile and entertainment, can be detected.
